Psychoeducational Assessment LD/ADHD
This comprehensive evaluation is designed for individuals from school age to adulthood. It examines cognitive, academic, attentional, executive functioning, and social-emotional aspects. The assessment aims to identify the presence of ADHD or a Learning Disorder and how these conditions impact learning and overall functioning. The assessment process includes:
Thorough intake interview with the adult individual or with the parents/caregivers (can be virtual or in person and takes 1-2 hours)
Gathering important historical information including developmental, medical, educational, social history
Discuss current areas of concern and purpose of evaluation.
Standardized measures:
4-6 hours in person testing
Cognitive measure of intelligence:
An assessment of verbal and nonverbal problem-solving skills, visual spatial reasoning, working memory, and processing speed.
Academic/ Achievement measure:
An assessment of reading, writing and mathematical skills to identify the individual’s areas of strengths and challenges, and how ADHD may be impacting learning and, or if there is a co-occurring learning struggle.
Attention/ Executive Functioning measures:
An assessment of inattention, sustained attention, impulsivity and vigilance.
Social/Emotional Functioning:
Rating scales completed by the parents/caregivers and teachers, and or self to help identify any behavioral/ emotional concerns.
Feedback session
1-2 hours in person or virtual
During the feedback session we’ll review data in the written report, discuss results, and individualized recommendations.
